Jahvillani, born Dujon Edwards, is a rising star in the dancehall scene, originating from the rural neighborhood of Great Pond in St. Ann, Jamaica. Raised by a single parent with two sisters, he grew up inspired by renowned artists like Buju Banton, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, and Sizzla. After graduating from Ocho Rios High School in 2011, Jahvillani had already made a name for himself in school through his energetic performances and creative verses.
He adopted the stage name “Jahvillani,” a combination of “Jah” representing the good in society and “villani,” a twist on “villain,” to symbolize the balance of good and evil in his music. Jahvillani’s journey into music transitioned from writing to recording after completing his studies, influenced by artists like Vybz Kartel and Buju Banton. His debut single “Hold A Vibez” was released in 2013, followed by popular tracks like “Wile and Done” in 2016, earning him significant recognition.
Jahvillani gained international attention with hits like “Wileside Government,” “Nuh Reason,” and “Clarks Pon Foot,” the latter gaining recognition from the Clarks brand itself. In 2021, he released his debut full-length project Dirt to Bentley, distributed by VP Records. The release saw him exploring various themes, collaborating with artists like Skillibeng, Prince Swanny, and Kranium, and showcasing his ambition to expand opportunities for upcoming artists in the industry.
