Shaggy, Beres Hammond and Dexta Daps Link Up for “Dancehall Nice”

On Feb 27, Diamond-selling artist Shaggy shared his single “Dancehall Nice,” featuring Beres Hammond and Dexta Daps. The track arrives through a partnership between VP Records and Shaggy’s Ranch Entertainment.

“Dancehall Nice” marks the first recorded collaboration between Shaggy, Beres Hammond, and Dexta Daps, spanning three generations of Jamaican music. The track, co-produced by Shaggy and Lloyd “John John” James Jr., is framed as a tribute to dancehall culture, celebrating these communal spaces in Jamaica while urging younger generations to preserve and carry the culture forward.

The single follows “Til A Mawnin” featuring Sting and “Boom Body” with Akon and Aidonia, continuing a steady run of collaborative releases over the past year.

Outside of his recording work, Shaggy has maintained an active presence across live performance and cultural projects. Managed by Martin Kierszenbaum/Cherrytree Music Company, he is set to appear as the Ferryman opposite Sting in the New York revival of the musical The Last Ship at the Metropolitan Opera House, running June 9-14, 2026, following stagings in Paris and Brisbane.

He also continues his role as a co-founder of the Island Music Conference, which took place February 25-28, 2026, where artists, producers, managers, and music professionals gather for panels and workshops focused on the business and global development of Jamaican music during Reggae Month.

Shaggy closed out 2025 with the live launch of his upcoming studio album during Art Basel Miami Beach, where he previewed material at an event staged in partnership with VP Records, Okayplayer, BitBasel, and Ranch Entertainment. The year also included performances at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix and the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, alongside ongoing philanthropic work through the Shaggy Make a Difference Foundation, including appearances at two major benefit concerts supporting Jamaica’s recovery from Hurricane Melissa.

“Dancehall Nice” is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
