Beenie Man, Capleton, Busy Signal and Shenseea Nice Up London’s City Splash

Last Bank Holiday Monday (27th May), the UK saw the return of City Splash Festival, one of the most essential and authentic celebrations of Caribbean and African culture in Europe, to seven stages at London’s Brockwell Park.

The festival, founded by Ben Ryan and Jah Bigs of RockersLDN, made history with the return of legendary Grammy-nominated Jamaican reggae and dancehall musician Capleton, alongside the charismatic, hitmaker Beenie Man, dancehall sensation Shenseea and fellow Jamaican star Busy Signal, known for hits like ‘Stay So.’ Other entertainers on the bill included Anthony B, Queen Omega, Ding Dong, Libianca, WSTRN, General Levy, Mad Professor, D’Yani, Channel One, Iration Steppas and renowned UK sound system Rampage Sound holding their regular stage with Shabba Party and Saxon Sound. 

A strong force of female DJs was represented by Izzy Bossy hosting the Bossy LDN stage as well as Jordss, Ayanna Heaven and Rachael Anson. TV presenter and DJ, Becca D put out a stunning set as did Shayna Marie and YNG CPTN, who followed on from Ghanaian rapper and reggae appreciator, Black Sherif. Other DJ powerhouses were present including DJ Nate, Sir DJ Corey, Ras Kwame, Seani B, Robbo Ranx, Heartless Crew, Jamie Rodigan and many more.
