VP Music Group is an independent record label that values authenticity, diversity, and a shared commitment to supporting artists and preserving musical heritage.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Royalty Analyst to join our team. This role supports the day-to-day operations of our Royalty department, with a focus on Artist and Mechanical royalties across multiple labels. The ideal candidate will interpret recording agreements, ensure accurate and timely royalty statements reporting, and manage suspense accruals and inquiries.

Please note: This is a music industry position. Prior experience with music royalties, publishing, or record label royalty accounting is strongly preferred. Candidates with general data analysis backgrounds but no music industry experience are unlikely to be a match for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and document royalty terms, product/track links to recording agreements.
  • Clear suspense accruals and pending calculations.
  • Reconcile third-party liability account balances, including samples, overrides, and other related items.
  • Prepare accurate and timely royalty statements (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual) in compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review disputed contractual language and draft formal responses for Business Affairs, Legal, and A&R Administration.
  • Respond to artist and representative inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Support additional ad hoc projects and analyses as needed by the Royalties, Business Affairs, or Finance teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in royalty accounting, financial analysis, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience analyzing data from multiple corporate systems.
  • Familiarity with royalty systems and music industry contracts is a plus.

Overview

VP Records is seeking a results-driven Digital Sales Manager to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth across digital music platforms. This role manages key relationships with DSPs (Digital Service Providers) to ensure our catalog and new releases achieve strong visibility, playlist placement, discovery, and consumption. The Digital Sales Manager works cross-functionally with marketing, production, licensing, and content teams to amplify the reach and impact of our digital music content.

This is a full-time, onsite position based at our headquarters in Jamaica, Queens, with periodic travel required.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed digital revenue goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and audience behavior to uncover new sales opportunities.

Digital Distribution

  • Manage and grow relationships with streaming platforms, digital retailers, and distribution partners.
  • Ensure on-time digital releases with optimal platform visibility.

Partnership Management

  • Maintain strong, strategic relationships with key industry partners and DSPs.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct regular, goal-oriented visits to key partners.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Collaborate with marketing to create digital campaigns that drive streaming and engagement.
  • Leverage cultural moments and current trends to enhance discovery and consumption of new and catalog content.

Sales Reporting & Analysis

  • Track and report on sales metrics, trends, and performance.
  • Apply data insights to refine and continuously improve sales strategies.
  • Stay current with industry innovations, tech shifts, and music consumption patterns.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in digital music sales, DSP relations, or digital accounts within a label, distributor, or management firm.
  • Strong DSP relationships, especially in editorial, playlisting, and commercial strategy.
  • Experience managing both catalog and front-line repertoire.
  • Thorough understanding of digital distribution, licensing, and how digital marketing intersects with streaming success.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven leadership in a collaborative, fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Passion for reggae music and culture is a plus.
  • Demonstrates integrity, loyalty, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000–$100,000 (commensurate with experience)
