Brixton, UK- In celebration of International Women’s Day 2020, VP Records teamed up with leading UK Caribbean / Carnival promoters, Shabba Party and cult fashion brand, Knots & Vibes to present a special event saluting the strength, confidence and power of women in dancehall.
On Friday March 13th, dancehall fans from London and beyond, made their way to the Prince of Wales, situated in Brixton, the heartbeat of London’s Caribbean community, to witness an historic event encompassing live acts including UK dancehall royalty, Alicai Harley and rising star Indie.
The night also included cutting-edge DJ sets from BBC 1XTRA presenter Sian Anderson and DJ Shaxx, and even a HOTLY (!) contested dancehall queen competition featuring the UK’s very best dance talent on the scene today.
