VP Records is proud to announce that Soca sensation Fay-Ann Lyons will make her DC Television debut on Great Day Washington on Washington DC’s CBS affiliate WUSA Friday June 16th. Their flagship morning show features live segments including entertainment, lifestyle, fashion, cooking, DIY and Fitness. Fay-Ann will be speaking to hosts Markette Sheppard and Chris Leary and performing her new single ‘Girls’ off her recent album release “Break the World.” Additionally, the songstress will be offering viewers a sneak peak of the ‘Girls’ music video.
Shot by Ruption Design Studios in Jamaica, the ‘Girls’ video highlights the carnival spirit with playful dancing and colorful costumes. Furthermore, the song and video celebrate the innate power of femininity. This sentiment is expressed with the songs catchy and bold hook “When the girls look good, all the boys they come around.”
Fay-Ann Lyons and her husband, Soca hitmaker Bunji Garlin will stay in DC to perform alongside Queen Ifrica, Romain Virgo and Tarrus Riley at the 2017 Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival on Sunday June 18th. Back for its 2nd year in DC, the event is held from 11-8pm at their upgraded venue, the Festival Grounds of RFK (Lot 6). Held from 11am-8pm, the day’s festivities include two stages of music performances, a Cook-off Pavilion, Cultural Stage, Kidz Zone and more.
“I think people will like the video ‘Girls’ because it is different,” Fay-Ann stated. “It is so nice to have your work recognized and as a Caribbean talent, I am grateful for the traction and attention my recent album has been getting. It is only the beginning,” she concluded.
Tune in to Great Day Washington live from 9am-10am on Friday to see Fay-Ann Lyons interview and performance with a clip of her new video ‘Girls’! The full video will be available right after the show at www.wusa9.com.
