In anticipation of his upcoming album “LoveSick”, out March 30th and a UK tour beginning next week, VP Records artist Romain Virgo will be doing special pop-up performances at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay Airport in Jamaica on Sunday March 25, 2018. The performances will be held between 11am and 2pm, pre-security at the check in area with the main performance being at the main terminal, post security. Travelers are encouraged to come early to see both performances.
“MBJ Airports Limited (MBJ) is very pleased that Romain and team will make a performance for passengers and are excited as this is the first of its kind to be done at the airport,” said Sharon Hislop, Commercial & Marketing Manager of MBJ Airports. “This partnership forms part of MBJ’s new vision of of creating an “Irie Airport” experience for passengers to indulge in our vibrant culture as they traverse our airport. Songs from Romain Virgo and other reggae artists welcome passengers on arrivals, so it is great to have an actual performance in the terminal for passengers and other airport users to enjoy.” The album may be purchased at the Tuff Gong Trading store inside the Departure area at Sangster International Airport.
MBJ commemorates its 15th Anniversary this April as the operator of Sangster International Airport under a concession agreement with the Government of Jamaica, and this is the first of several activities to celebrate this milestone of managing one of Jamaica’s greatest assets. The airport is the largest in Jamaica, with over 4.2 million passengers using the airport in 2017 and used by the majority of visitors to the island.
“LoveSick” takes listeners on a journey that explores every emotion felt when finding love, losing love and finding love again. In the many twists and turns of romance and relationships, Romain represents a young man who has experienced it all and now has a dynamic story to tell. Executive produced by Niko Browne for Lifeline Music, with additional production by Sting International and Vikings Production, the album presents a new pop reggae sound traced with his signature lovers rock style woven throughout. His latest single “Still” is a passionate ballad over the upbeat Skyspraper Riddim by Richie Stephens, a forthcoming video is premiering this weekend on the hit Jamaican show “On Stage.” The European tour will include stops in Germany, The UK, Holland and Switzerland (all dates below).
