Bob Marley’s name is synonymous with Reggae and his legend has transcended beyond the realms of the genre. Everyone knows the classics, however, not many know about this crucial non-album track “Mr. Chatterbox”.
Produced by ‘The Hitmaker From Jamaica’ Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee (the only song Bob made with the fabled producer) and recorded at the legendary studio Randy’s, upstairs at 17 North Parade, Kingston, the track has all the hallmarks of the classic 1970s Reggae sound and it has been a favourite amongst collectors & Soundsystems alike since its initial release. Notably, the recording starts with a conversational exchange between Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee and Bob Marley talking about the producer Winston ‘Niney’ Holness, supposedly the character whom Bob references in “Mr. Chatterbox.”
This timeless piece of Reggae history has been remastered and reissued with care and attention plus it’s housed in a custom illustrated sleeve by the revered designer Tony McDermott, famed for his work with the iconic Greensleeves Records.
