REBROADCASTING OF STRICTLY THE BEST LAUNCH EVENT THIS SATURDAY AT 9PM ON TVJ- STAR STUDDED PROGRAM IN CELEBRATION OF VP RECORDS 40TH ANNIVERSARY AND THE RELEASE OF STB VOLUME 58 & 59

Top Jamaican television network, TVJ will be rebroadcasting the highlights of the Kickoff to VP Records 40th Anniversary 2019, Strictly the Best Live Montego Bay this Saturday, February 23rd at 9pm. This rebroadcast follows the success of the star-studded launch event at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records restaurant in Montego Bay on January 30th. VP Records has partnered with RETV and Fame 95 FM to once again bring this event to TVJ and the event can also be seen on demand by downloading 1spotMedia app or on YouTube. Strictly The Best Live was a one-of-a-kind multimedia event, sponsored by Coral Cliff Montego Bay, The S Hotel Montego Bay, Usain Bolt’s Tracks and Records and RJR Gleaner Group and including a television broadcast on RETV and TVJ in Jamaica, radio broadcast on FAME FM with global link-ups and more. The brand hopes to continue to break new ground in access and viewing opportunities as this additional broadcast is arranged for a prime time slot on TVJ this Saturday night.  

Once again there will be interviews conducted by Debbie Bissoon featuring the Chin Family, Aaron Talbert of VP Records, and the array of artists performing. The concert, produced by Richard Lue of VP Records and Sutania Williams of RETV and hosted by Brian Brown of Coral Cliff, included performances from Estelle, Beenie Man, Christopher Martin, Shenseea, Jah9, Teejay, Bulby York, Tarrus Riley, Romain Virgo, and Raging Fyah. Opening the show and confidently setting the tone for the performances to follow was Raging Fyah with their new lead singer, Journee. The highlight of the night was the final performance by Beenie Man which sparked an impromptu group performance of Bob Marley’s “One Love”, with all the performers uniting on stage in celebration.  

Fans across the globe got a chance to join in on the fun and experience the original live event by tuning into the YouTube live stream which racked up several thousand viewers. Major cities around the world also hosted viewing parties allowing for communities of reggae lovers to unite and celebrate the release of Strictly The Best 58 & 59, as well as VPRecords’ legacy. Now fans will once again get to join in on the festivities with this special edited rebroadcast of the event on TVJ.  

Strictly the Best Live was the perfect culmination of VP Records’ 40 years in the United States for the multimedia event gave fans all over the world unprecedented access into Jamaican culture, mirroring what VP had initially done when Randy and Patricia Chin brought VP to New York and helped introduce Reggae to the world. To top it off, this year’s Strictly the Best Volumes 58 and 59 debuted at Number 1 and 3 on the Billboard Reggaechart in its first week.
