The Opportunities in the Digital Music Space (A VP Records Industry Roundtable) panel discussion, was recently held at the University of the West Indies (UWI), and focused on career opportunities for young Jamaicans in the digital age and ever-evolving landscape of the music industry. Panelists highlighted new trends in the industry (such as TikTok and more direct-to-fan relationships) and how VP has adapted in light of these changes. They stressed the importance of embracing digital tools for marketing, distribution, and networking. The discussion also emphasized the need for Jamaican artists to future-proof themselves by having good catalogue management. VP has been a steward of Jamaican music since the 60s.
