FOUR CREWS BROUGHT NEW YORK CITY’S MOST CELEBRATED PARADES TOGETHER FOR AN EPIC SHOWDOWN IN BROOKLYN
Red Bull Culture Clash returned to New York City after a two-year hiatus for an unforgettable celebration of the city’s iconic parades. The sold-out Brooklyn event featured head-to-head performances from four crews, bringing A-list surprise musical guests, unreleased tracks, legendary remixes, and more. In the end, No Long Talk’s crew representing the West Indian Day Parade won over the crowd to claim the title, sealing the deal after bringing special guest Wyclef Jean and YG Marley on stage.
Set against the New York City skyline, each music crew represented one of four New York City parades: Remezcla representing the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, Eastern Standard Times representing the Lunar New Year Parade, No Long Talk representing the West Indian Day Parade, and Papi Juice representing the NYC Pride March. Each crew brought their parade to life in their own way and surprised the crowd with iconic musical guests including Jim Jones, Pink Sweat$, Ms. Boogie, YG Marley and Wyclef Jean. The crews also created their own remix of “New York Groove” as an ode to the event’s host city. The event was hosted by Devon Halbal and Mel Ottenberg with DJ sets and refereeing by The Large.
No Long Talk is a crew dedicated to championing Caribbean sound around the world. The collective has strong local bases in major cities, including New York, Miami, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica, showcasing their uniquely Caribbean-rooted and globally active community. The crew features talent including Deejay Puffy, SilentMatic, DJ Madout, Disco Neil, Jus Jay King, Kevin Crown, Major Penny, Rheezus, Shacia Payne and Travis World.
“We represented the whole Caribbean today and it’s an honour to do this for our culture, especially on a scale like this,” said Rhea Prendergast (Rheezus), No Long Talk’s crew leader, after securing the crowd-determined win. “We don’t really get these opportunities very often, so it’s an honour. Truly, thank you to Red Bull for giving us this opportunity.”
