VP Records/Greensleeves Records is proud to announce that top Jamaican singer and producer Linval Thompson’s “Linval Presents Dub Landing” Volume 1 and 2, will be available Friday May 4, 2018 in both Vinyl and CD format. The “Dub Landing” series followed the huge success of its predecessor “Scientist Meets The Space Invaders” album, which marked Linval’s place in innovative reggae music.
Now re-mastered by Kevin Metcalfe with full approval of Linval Thompson, “Dub Landing” (Volume 1), originally released in 1981 includes previously unreleased music from Junior Reid, Billy Boyo, Ranking are included. Volume 2, originally released in 1982, includes previously unreleased music from Sister Nancy, Papa Tullo, Hell & Fire.
Both double CD sets feature classic dubs laid down by Scientist at King Tubby’s, accompanied with a second disc of matching vocal and DJ versions. Each CD set also includes a limited edition 2’ x 2’ full color poster of the astronautical theme cover art by illustrator Tony Mcdermott, a 6 panel dig-pack and 7-page booklet with extended liner notes, while the double vinyl set includes a poster of the front sleeve artwork. Manufactured and imported from the UK, the compilations represent a solid collection of music for fans of dub, roots reggae and early dancehall.
