Irish and Chin Scores with ‘World Bash’ Sound System Concert in Canada

Irish and Chin Scores with ‘World Bash’ Sound System Concert in Canada.

Irish and Chin’s World Bash sound system concert sees success in Canada.  The third exciting installment of World Bash featured the dubplates and performances of 10 of the world’s leading sound systems. Team Chin and Team Canada shared the stage at Rebel Entertainment Complex in Toronto where each sound performed a 20-minute segment to earn forwards (roaring applause) from the audience on hand and watching via pay-per-view.

Garfield ‘Chin’ Bourne explained the concept of the show saying, “This show is designed for the crowd, so ultimately, the crowd wins.  Each

allstar sound is competing for a forward and to get that forward, they must impress the crowd.  It is not a Clash – the goal is to see who gets the most forwards.  This is bashment with dubplates and high energy.”

Performing for Team Canada was King Turbo, King Klepto, Rootsman Sound, Black Reaction and Super Fresh.  Representing Team Chin was Killamanjaro, Bass Odyssey, Soul Supreme, Body Guard and LP International.

In addition to the performances, an exceptional highlight of the evening’s festivities was the crowning of Johnny Osbourne and Grandmaster Rosa.  Johnny has a longstanding history with Canada having lived there for some years, and contributing to the eary stages of Reggae recordings in the country.  Grandmaster Rosa is one of Canada’s oldest sounds, who has paved the way for sound system culture by producing events and creating opportunities for other sounds to find success.

Both men were honored for their years in the industry and their unyielding contributions to the promotion of Reggae and Dancehall worldwide.
