Gorgon Records Goes Into The Film Archives

After successes with the inaugural debut lyric video for Delroy Wilson’s “Better Must Come,” Gorgon Records has gone into the film archives to bring out this in-studio performance of “Dancing Mood” by Delroy Wilson.

First recorded for legendary producer Coxsone Dodd in 1966, Delroy Wilson re-recorded this classic for producer Bunny “Striker” Lee in 1979. Here, Delroy Wilson performs this classic for producers Bunny “Striker” Lee and King Jammy at the 18 Dromilly Avenue home-studio of Osbourne Ruddock, better known as King Tubby.  Aside from having both legendary producers at the controls for one performance, singer and producer Mikey Dread (Born Michael George Campbell) can briefly be heard narrating over the video introducing the performance.

All these Reggae legends in one video at the peak of “when dance did nice” serve as a perfect time capsule of where the state of the music was when this was recorded in 1983.
