Jamaican Songstress Set To Perform at Private Concert Held at the
United Nations General Assembly Hall on Mon. March 2, 2015
Her Single “Better Tomorrow” Selected as Official Campaign Anthem
And Re-Released on March 3 With All Proceeds Going Towards Cause
Led by the United African Congress, Give Them a Hand Foundation and the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation – Etana and VP Records have joined the effort to fight Ebola and participate in the “Stop Ebola and Build For the Future” campaign and concert at the United Nations on Mon. March 2, 2015. These initiatives will benefit the efforts to combat the worst outbreak of the disease affecting Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone through a multi-pronged approach focused on spreading prevention information and providing training, building a robust system of support for those impacted (especially children orphaned by the disease) and building community clinics in the affected countries.
The critically acclaimed Jamaican reggae singer Etana has graciously offered up the title track from her second album Better Tomorrow as the official anthem for the “Stop Ebola and Build For the Future” campaign. The song will be re-released on March 3, 2015 via iTunes, and all proceeds from the song will go towards the cause.

“When I wrote the song I thought of Africa and how rich and beautiful the continent is yet there are so many struggling and suffering people and only a handful of very wealthy people. I also had similar thoughts of people in America, South America, Jamaica, Haiti, India, etc. I wanted the world to feel like I feel, that there must be a better tomorrow. When I heard that someone was so moved by the song that they wanted to use the song to help people affected by Ebola I was overwhelmed with emotions. I am so happy to see the song doing exactly what I wanted it to do – help, heal and strengthen humanity. I am grateful to everyone participating in the mission to help make it a very successful one. One perfect love to each and everyone,” states Etana.
Etana and her band will also take the stage at a private concert held at the United Nations General Assembly Hall on Monday, March 2, 2015 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm to raise awareness about the initiative. She will perform songs off her latest album I Rise as well as a special remix of “Better Tomorrow” featuring artists from all over the world, all who will unite on stage to fight for change. Political figures, including Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon and his wife Madame Ban Soon-taek, as well as celebrities, such as Derek Jeter, Lisa Vanderpump, Robin Roberts, Nick Cannon and Salt-N-Pepa, will also participate and attend the event. The concert is possible through a partnership between the UAC, GTAH, the Permanent Mission of São Tomé and Principe, the Permanent Missions to the UN of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea and the Observer Mission of the African Union as well as numerous nonprofit and community organizations, health professionals, and faith-based groups. The Friendship Ambassadors Foundation will act as the 501(c) 3 nonprofit fiscal conduit.
