In lieu of Valentines Day 2020, Dovey Magnum’s video for “Juju” has premiered on FADER today. “Juju” has become a buzz word ever since the Atlanta Dancehall Vixen appeared on Breakfast Club last Summer. She has used the term to promote confidence in a lady’s private parts and now Juju Valentine is born. In addition to the FADER premiere, Dovey did a live stream with Flava Radio with Rico Vibes at 12pm EST (daflavaradio.com).
“Juju” originally appeared as a focus track on VP Records Reggae Gold 2019. The single has since been streamed and downloaded by thousands and has become a staple term. The video directed by Isha Dipika Walia was filmed in NYC and features soft and feminine shots that embody the sensuality of the song. Isha Dipika Walia has also worked with Lorde, Rich Brian, Tommy Genesis, Adidas, Nike Women’s World Cup, Air Max and more.
Today, Dovey was live with Rico Vibes on DaFlava Radio to talk about the song, and the demand that drove the making of the music video. Fans can catch the live stream on Dovey’s Instagram feed (www.instagram.com/doveymagnum), www.offstagepass.com or www.daflavaradio.com.
About the song, Dovey states “Well the inspiration behind the record, you know at the end of the day, the juju is the magical part of the body, the female body.” “In terms of the visual, the visual is a sensual feeling, where everything is about that holding. It’s like saying, the way I hold you, you will be in heaven, I even send Angels down,” Dovey concludes.
