Today, Jamaican Jerk Festival USA, Inc. announced that tickets for the annual Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, held on Father’s Day, June 18 in Washington DC will be available at a discounted price for a limited time. After a widely attended debut event on Pennsylvania Avenue in 2016, the beloved festival returns with a larger space on the Festival Lawn at RFK Stadium. Patrons will now be able to purchase advance general admission tickets for only $19.00 and VIP for $99. Discounted tickets are available for purchase at http://www.dcjerkfestival.com/ by entering the code JF2017 until Sunday May 7, 2017. Regular priced tickets are valued at $25.00 in advance and $35.00 at the event, VIP tickets are regularly priced at $125.
Held during June’s Caribbean American Heritage Month, Grace’s Jamaican Jerk Festival in Washington DC promises more food, more music and more fun than last year. Many will come for the mouthwatering jerk cuisine that is provided by local restaurants but they will stay for the main stage performances by reggae sensations Tarrus Riley, Romain Virgo and Queen Ifrica along with Soca’s royal couple Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons. Local favorites Ras Slick and Image band along with comedian Raggashanti, DJ G-Nice and Ablazin Radio DJs will liven up the crowd with their sets throughout the lawn space.
In addition to the food and music will be the festival staple Jerk Cook-off Pavilion with Chef Andre Fowles, champion of Food Network’s Chopped and Chef Irie, host of Taste The Caribbean TV show. Tips and demonstrations will be featured along with a celebrity chef competition. A cultural stage will offer patrons a more mellow experience with poems and folk songs, while kids will be entertained with a new and approved Kidz Zone with a simple children’s menu.
“The move to RFK Stadium allows us to deliver a much better patron experience and overcome many of the challenges we faced last year on Pennsylvania Avenue,” stated Eddy Edwards, CEO of Jamaican Jerk Festival USA, Inc. at a media briefing on Monday, April 10th at the Jamaican Embassy. “There is more space to accommodate additional features such as an upscale VIP area, expand the kids zone and present a layout similar to the New York and Florida festivals.”
Gates will open at 11:00am on June 18th and continue until 8:00pm. Tickets are available on http://www.dcjerkfestival.com/, Ticketmaster and selected Caribbean retail outlets. Kids 10 and under will be admitted free.
The Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, DC is presented by the Institute of Caribbean Studies and produced by Jamaican Jerk Festival NY, LLC in association with VP Records.
