Reggae star Cocoa Tea’s “Good Life” is a perpetually special song that’s getting a revival through a recently released animated music video.
The first official video for the 1994 reggae classic, the animated work focuses on an independent Black woman and the many aspects of her “Good Life,” explained illustrator and animator specialist Jenille Brown.
“My interpretation for the female character is that she has built for herself a comfortable and fulfilling life,” said Brown, whose video shows the female protagonist engaged at work, practicing yoga, meeting with friends and spending some quiet time with a male friend.
The 27-year-old tune is back in the spotlight as a part of a VP Records/Greensleeves’ “Riddimentary Selection” 10-track compilation from producer-DJ Walshy Fire.
