Bandcamp Daily Names Junior Murvin’s Cool Down the Heat Album of the Day

Yesterday, Bandcamp Daily named Cool Down the Heat its Album of the Day, with journalist Jared Proudfoot writing that Junior Murvin’s voice delivers “prophecy through trembling vocal cords, turning warning into prayer.”
Out today on VP Records/Greensleeves, the newly compiled posthumous album features many of Murvin’s 1980s recordings, remixed and updated for 2025 by King Jammy. It includes the 1987 version of “Police and Thieves,” alongside “Cool Out Son” and “Ism Schism,” with several available on streaming for the first time.
